West African Rainbow Lizard
Greetings. Sharing with you a close up photo of a West African Rainbow Lizard. This lizard was dashing about around local palm trees and came to the side to give me a curious glance or two before disappearing behind the brush. These lizards love to bask in the day's bright sun making lighting quite harsh for photography conditions. As the sun begins to set, the lizard also slips away into the evening and reappears as the sun rises high on the next day. Photographed in Southern Florida. January 2020. www.shootingnomads.com
Snaping Turtle Pose
At first I thought that this critter was an alligator popping it's head up above the grasses in the distance. Slowly I inched forward to get a closer look and out emerges this fine looking turtle heading closer to me to get a look as well. His lumbering swag brought him closer and closer until coming to rest alongside my bicycle tire. A beauty of a turtle that blessed our morning with a close up view of turtle finery. Make Way For The Gator Make way for the Gator! After giving a low guttural call and a few minutes later, this gator was on the move. I had heard the gator and knew that it was close by. I saw a lady start to look deep into the grasses saying she thought she saw something moving. I said yep, it's a gator and you need to move back NOW! Sure enough the big fellow came right out walking with a purposeful stride and crossed the trail with a few feet of us. Without a sense of hesitation, he crossed over and into the wetlands on the other side of the trail. Point well taken to know your surrounding and watch carefully for each step you take.
