Nothing cuter than watching prairie dog families! They play, wrestle, tickle and clearly work great together in family units out in the wild. When danger is sensed or the mom wants the little ones to come home, she starts to give a yelp. Eastern Cottontail - Nothing Hurried (818) Greetings from the Shooting Nomads. This sweet Eastern Cottontail was in the mood to give a few poses. This was my favorite as the rabbit was curiously looking my was and slowly rubbing its cheek in casual observation. No fear and nothing hurried. Farmland Coyote of California. Photographed in Lodi, California at dusk along the field edge. This coyote had come down to the water canal for a drink and possible evening feast of bird or squirrel drinking from the water. Lodi is well known for its many wineries. It is home to sweeping grape and cherry vineyards. In addition it is a wonderful location for bird and wildlife viewing along these rural farmlands. Young Coyote On The Hunt

This clever and enthusiastic coyote was on the hunt in the grass fields of Yellowstone National Park. There seemed to be an abundance of available mice to aide in the success of this young coyote's stalking efforts. Porcupine Profile

This adorable Yukon Porcupine immediately captured my heart. It was merrily munching away on flowers on The Top Of The World Highway in Canada. Having never photographed a porcupine before, I was a little hesitant about potential quill throwing my way. However, this little critter was more than just a little curious and would poke it's head out to check up on my activities now and again. Not wanting to push my luck, I took a few snaps and let it get back to the delightful flower munching. Thankful for the wonderful opportunity to see such a roadside beauty! www.shootingnomads.com

Marmot Mischief

The other marmots had sounded the alarm and scurried away. All but this one curious marmot who was just as interested as watching me as I was of watching him. The marmots have created a home nestled in the rock crevices atop the hills of Steptoe Butte State Park in Washington. web www.shootingnomads.com
