Okay! Please Don't Use The Mom Voice

Nothing cuter than watching prairie dog families! They play, wrestle, tickle and clearly work great together in family units out in the wild. When danger is sensed or the mom wants the little ones to come home, she starts to give a yelp. This little one reached up to silence the mom as if to say, "please mom, you dont have to use the mom voice! I am right here" Photographed in the Badlands National Park area of South Dakota. June 2021. www.shootingnomadsphotography.com

May God's Blessings Be With You

Greetings. Sharing with you a photo of an adorable Prairie Dog family in the desert lands of Thompson Springs, Utah. They usually sound an alarm and scurry off upon my presence being noted, however on this particular day they seemed more comfortable with me and allowed for a few intimate photos. 👉www.shootingnomads.com

Greetings. These desert Prairie Dogs blessed my efforts and allowed me to come close to take several photos in the setting sun. They initially sounded the alert and scampered, but quickly came back with curiosity to watch me, as I watched them. Photographed in Grand County, Utah. May 2019.

Eastern Cottontail - Nothing Hurried (818)

Eastern Cottontail - Nothing Hurried (818) Greetings from the Shooting Nomads. This sweet Eastern Cottontail was in the mood to give a few poses. This was my favorite as the rabbit was curiously looking my was and slowly rubbing its cheek in casual observation. No fear and nothing hurried. Just loving the setting sun while relaxing in the bed of grass and flowers. Photographed in Fort Chiswell, Virginia. June 2020. ILCE-7RM4 FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS 459mm, Æ’/8.0, 1/1250s, ISO 200

    Farmland Coyote of California

Farmland Coyote of California. Photographed in Lodi, California at dusk along the field edge. This coyote had come down to the water canal for a drink and possible evening feast of bird or squirrel drinking from the water. Lodi is well known for its many wineries. It is home to sweeping grape and cherry vineyards. In addition it is a wonderful location for bird and wildlife viewing along these rural farmlands. Looking forward to more coyote encounters during my stay here in the upcoming 2 weeks. May, 2019. www.shootingnomads.com

    Young Coyote On The Hunt

This clever and enthusiastic coyote was on the hunt in the grass fields of Yellowstone National Park. There seemed to be an abundance of available mice to aide in the success of this young coyote's stalking efforts. Clearly this youngster is already quite capable of locating tasty morsels to fill a hungry tummy. October, 2018- Yellowstone National Park www.shootingnomads.com

  • Porcupine Profile

    Porcupine Profile

This adorable Yukon Porcupine immediately captured my heart. It was merrily munching away on flowers on The Top Of The World Highway in Canada. Having never photographed a porcupine before, I was a little hesitant about potential quill throwing my way. However, this little critter was more than just a little curious and would poke it's head out to check up on my activities now and again. Not wanting to push my luck, I took a few snaps and let it get back to the delightful flower munching. Thankful for the wonderful opportunity to see such a roadside beauty! www.shootingnomads.com
