Here in the valley of Yellowstone near the west side is a lovely grassland area along the river. The scenes with the elk during the rut season are natures beauty at it's best. This young bull elk is resting along with several female although his attention is alert to a older bull elk close by. Soon after this peaceful scene, he starts to head his small harem further out into the forest to give way to the older male and his herd. The beauty of these animals in the wild with little fear of predators provides this inviting scene to be enjoyed by all. www.shootingnomads.com
