This image was captured towards the last day of our stay at Bishop. The skies had been mostly sunny but then the Weather Gods decided to smile as a weather system made it our way. Upon arrival, amazingly there were almost no cars in the parking lot and I had the place pretty much to myself. As the sun set this beautiful streak of clouds showed up from the west and turned an amazing pink.
The weather had been bright and sunny almost every day since we got to Bishop. Finally, as a weather system came by the skies turned dark, overcast and gloomy. We finally got a break during the fleeting moments of sunset when the sky color matched the beautiful fall colors in the Eastern Sierra.
There was a tree called Georges' Tree besides the Owens River that was a favorite for photographers for a long time. That tree unfortunately no longer exists and has been swept away by the meandering river. Back in 2013, while exploring other opportunities in this area I found this nearby tree that I call Georges' Sister. Although not besides the river, the white wildflowers besides the tree beautifully complemented the scene.
